Andria Christofidou

Dr. Andria Christofidou is Lecturer in Sociology at the Department of Social and Political Sciences, University of Cyprus. She holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Glasgow (2017). Her research is concerned with gender and sexuality, and focuses specifically on men, masculinities, and social change. Her research appears in journals such as NORMA, Journal of Gender Studies, European Journal of Cultural Studies, and The Sociological Review. Her first monograph, Men, Masculinities and Sexualities in Dance: transgression and its limits, was published in 2021 under the Palgrave McMillan Genders and Sexualities in the Social Sciences Series. https://www.ucy.ac.cy/directory/en/profile/achris05

Genovefa Zafeiridou

Dr. Genovefa Zafeiridou recently completed her PhD degree at the University of Cyprus in the Department of Education Sciences with a direction in the Sociology of Education. Her doctoral dissertation is entitled “Masculinities and Femininities in puberty: Gender relationships, the projection of self in social media and the role of education”. She currently works as Adjunct Lecturer (Special Scientist) at the European University of Cyprus (School of Humanities, Social & Education Sciences) and the University of Cyprus (Department of Social and Political Sciences), and Postdoctoral Researcher. Her research interests revolve around gender, sexuality, masculinity, culture, violence, youth studies, and new media.

Orestis Michaelides
Orestis Michaelides is a graduate of Psychology from the University of Edinburgh. As a quantitative analyst, he leads statistical analysis of survey data collected by the European Union to study patterns in the attitudes that Cypriots hold toward gender and how these have changed throughout the 21st century. His interests lie in quantitative methodology and psychometrics, which he applies across the fields of social psychology and individual differences.
Daphne Demetriou
Daphne Demetriou is a researcher and project coordinator at the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS), where she works across social research, project management, training, and advocacy, focusing on gender equality and violence against women. She holds a BA from the University of Hamburg, Germany, and an MA from the University of Vienna, Austria, both in Cultural Anthropology. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Sociology at the University of Cyprus, examining reproductive decision-making in pronatalist societies.
