Welcome to our website, a space showcasing research on men, masculinities, and social change in Cyprus and the Mediterranean area more broadly.

The Masculinities Research Hub consists of researchers committed to advancing knowledge on men and masculinities, gender relations, and social change in the Mediterranean area. Our research employs a multi-dimensional approach to explore masculinity, the ways it is manifested in the micro-level of everyday social action, and the conditions in the macro-level of culture and society, which affect its construction and negotiation. Our current projects focus on fatherhood and care, caring masculinities, family policies, (changing?) cultural attitudes towards gender, and gender relations in Cyprus and the Mediterranean area.

Our research findings contribute to academic debates on men and masculinities, gender (inequality), gender relations, and social change.
